An API is an interface with clear commands and responses - this is how devices „talk“ to each other. There are defined responses for every query. These commands and responses are summarized in comprehensive documentation. With the local API, you can control NRGkick directly in your home network.
You have the choice between two protocols: JSON for simple readout & control or Modbus for specific individual values.

With the local API from NRGkick, you get even more depth and automation options: You can read more detailed values and trigger actions automatically - instead of having to intervene manually every time. For example, the charging current can be adjusted automatically when certain events occur: when PV surplus is available, a favorable tariff starts or you arrive home. In short: less typing, more convenience - and charging that adapts intelligently to your everyday life.
Set up & get started
The NRGkick API is available in two protocols - JSON and Modbus. You can easily activate the interface in the NRGkick App. Then open the IP address of your NRGkick in the browser: There you will find the interactive documentation with examples and live values. Alternatively, the same documentation is also available as a demo with sample values.
